The biggest myth of all is that the government works for you. In fact, it works to maintain power over you and stands in opposition to democracy.
Only 1 in 5 people voted for the current government.
If any UK government believed in democracy they would change our voting system to represent the people. Labour party delegates voted overwhelmingly in favour of this at their party conference in 2022, but the authoritarian Starmer has no intention of listening to his own party let alone the electorate.
Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely, as can be seen by the latest government’s actions. Labour voted to kill an estimated 4000 pensioners by cutting off the winter fuel allowance, as a result of which they will allegedly save a meager £1.4bn. In comparison to total estimated expenditure (£1,226bn) that’s 0.1% of the budget. Or a rounding error. Yet Lucy Powell, the commons leader, claims on our TV screens that without this action we may face a run on the pound! It would be farcical if the consequences weren’t so serious.
Labour is abandoning the vulnerable to die in the cold.
This is by no means the only example of government policy costing lives, it’s just the latest.
The government is a death cult
Take a moment to reflect on the comments made in March 2020 about the COVID pandemic by national medical director Prof Stephen Povis “If we can keep deaths below 20,000 we will have done very well in this epidemic.”
We didn’t even come close to that. We had over 230,000 deaths. Over 200,000 excess deaths caused by the government response.
And before that, even worse than the government response to the pandemic was the government response to the financial crisis in 2008. In 2010, austerity was forced upon us. It was pitched as a necessity after the bail outs of the banking industry just as it is pitched now as a necessity to appease the markets. It wasn’t then and has never been an economic necessity. And it cost this country over 300,000 excess deaths.
Over half a million deaths brought about by government policy in only the last 14 years. The government does not work for you. It continues to reduce your standard of living and life expectancy. It continues to indebt you to keep you in a position of weakness. Work hard and survive or live a life of misery. It doesn’t care. You don’t count.
Of course, it’s your fault you’re poor not that the system is designed to keep you that way. In the sixth richest country on the planet, in a technologically advanced age, why aren’t we living in a utopia? Because the government doesn’t work for you.
